In SpeCLED (as well as in real LEDs) voltage is applied between p-pad contact and n-pad contact.
While voltage/bias in SiLENSe means p-n junction bias, i.e. voltage applied to the part of the heterostructure which includes following items
- some small part (say 200-300 nm) of the thick n-contact layer
- QWs, barriers, electron blocking layers, and so on
- some small part (say 200-300 nm) of the p-contact layer (in III-nitrides p-contact is usually thin)
