Parameters Un and Up are user-defined values. We have discussed our choice of defaults for Un and Up.
Equations in Sec 6.2.1 completely describe how Un and Up effect the dislocation recombination rate.
These eqautions were derived by assuming that DOS follows the following equation:
Electrons: DOS(E) = 1/(1+exp(-(E-Ec)/Un))
Holes: DOS(E) = 1/(1+exp(-(Ev-E)/Up))
I have realized that in previous message on this subject I have not stated impact of Un and Up parameters on DOS. I hope now I have clarified the question.
