BESST의 기능은 크게 두 가지입니다.
Generally, BESST provides two main capabilities:
(i) Analysis of two individual n- and p-superlattices (Miniband option).
(ii) Analysis of an LED made of p-n junction between two superlattices and,
possible, some active region also made of superlattice.
Initially, BESST was developed to simulate very specific UV LEDs made in
Texas Technical University. These LEDs were made completely from
short-period AlGaN superlattices. By combining superlattices of different
layer thickness and composition, one can modify the effective energy gap.
The only supporting materials are documentation (including simulation cases)
and some our research work presented in IWN-2004 (attached).
